Opening its first American office in 2006, SCHOU USA manufactures
finely crafted furniture and accessories with modern simplicity
and unique
design.
SCHOU USA, while independent, has both American and Danish ownership
and remains a sister company to Jørgen Schou Holding of Denmark.
The SCHOU affiliated network has been adding value to the home experience
worldwide since 1912. Schou Company A/S and its parent Trade Wind A/S
are some of Scandinavia’s largest wholesalers, with showrooms
and logistics located throughout Europe and now complementing the US–division’s
growing presence.
The SCHOU-financed Learning Centre was established in cooperation with the Borneo Child Aid Society to create better living conditions for plantation children whose families live and work on Indonesian plantations.
Unlike many children in Southeast Asia who have little education and few opportunities to learn a useful skill, the children of the new school will be given an education similar to that of Western society. The SCHOU Learning Centre will enroll 50 students, fully paid, every year for the next 50 years.
